01Using our services

Use the website and community services responsibly and for their intended purposes. Provide accurate information, use only contact details you are authorized to use, and keep information you submit reasonably current. Minors should use our services and participate in activities with their parent or guardian's permission.

You are responsible for keeping any account credentials, private preference links, and organizer management links secure. Contact us if you believe someone has accessed them without permission.

02Community conduct and content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give GMKETL a nonexclusive permission to store, format, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the community services you request, including publishing public posts and sending relevant announcements. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it.

We may review, edit for clarity, decline, or remove content and restrict access when reasonably needed to enforce these terms, protect participants, or operate the service. Submitting a request does not guarantee publication or a response from another player. Public content may be copied or indexed by others.

• Treat other participants respectfully. Do not post harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, spam, fraud, or misleading claims.
• Do not impersonate another person, submit another person's private information without permission, or post content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Do not attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the website or messaging service, or collect personal information from community pages for unsolicited contact.

03Events, player requests, and participation

The bulletin board connects players and organizers. Some listed activities are organized independently. A listing does not guarantee that GMKETL hosts, supervises, or endorses every aspect of an activity. Confirm the organizer, schedule, location, availability, costs, and participation requirements before attending.

Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings and for communicating changes to participants. Tennis and related activities involve physical risks. Participants should consider their fitness, conditions, equipment, and any medical advice relevant to their participation. Activity-specific rules, permissions, or waivers may be presented separately.

Announcements and automated reminders may be delayed or unavailable. Do not rely on the website or text messages for emergencies or urgent safety information.

04Membership, registration, and donations

Payments, donations, memberships, and registrations may be handled through Zeffy, PayPal, or another identified service. Review the amount, purpose, organizer, and any cancellation or refund terms shown before completing a transaction. Contact the listed organizer or GMKETL with questions about a payment.

Eligibility, availability, benefits, and refund terms can vary by program or event. Any information about tax treatment is subject to your circumstances and applicable rules; a payment is not automatically tax deductible merely because it appears on this website. SMS consent is not required to purchase, donate, register, or become a member.

05GMKETL Tennis Alerts SMS program

GMKETL Tennis Alerts provides optional recurring text messages about tennis partners and substitutes, player requests, events, clinics, tournaments, and related confirmations or updates. Some messages are sent automatically. Message frequency varies with your selected topics, requests, and community activity.

• Joining: follow the opt-in instructions on our SMS alerts page or at the signup point. If instructed, text SUBSCRIBE to the program number and follow any confirmation instructions. By opting in, you authorize GMKETL to send program messages to the number you provide, including automated messages. You must own that number or have the subscriber's authorization.
• Optional consent: agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase, donation, registration, or membership. A phone number supplied for another purpose does not by itself enroll you in SMS announcements.
• Costs: message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's plan determines any charges. GMKETL does not charge a separate subscription fee for the SMS program.
• Stopping messages: reply STOP to the number sending the program messages to unsubscribe. You may receive one confirmation message. Further program messages will stop unless you opt in again.
• Help: reply HELP to the program number or email gmketl@gmketl.org for assistance. Use the program's preference instructions to adjust available topics; use STOP when you want to stop all program texts.
• Rejoining or changing numbers: follow the current opt-in instructions to rejoin. Your carrier may require START or UNSTOP to remove a network-level block. If your number changes or is transferred to someone else, stop messages to the old number and enroll the new number separately.
• Delivery: messages depend on carrier and network availability and may be delayed or not delivered. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. The program is not an emergency service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle mobile numbers, consent records, and other personal information. We do not share mobile information or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional text programs.

06Website materials and external services

GMKETL's branding and original website materials belong to GMKETL or their respective owners. You may view and share public page links for personal and community use. Other uses of protected materials require permission or another lawful basis.

Links to registration providers, payment services, social media, and other websites are provided for convenience. Their services and terms are their own. GMKETL is not responsible for their operation or content.

07Availability and responsibility

We work to keep information useful and services available, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free content, a successful player match, or delivery of every message. Services are provided as available, without warranties to the extent permitted by applicable law. Verify details that are important to your plans.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, GMKETL is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the website or messaging service. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

08Changes and applicable law

We may update the website, program features, and these terms. Updated terms will be published here with their effective date. Material changes to SMS consent will be handled through additional notice or consent when required.

These terms are governed by Wisconsin law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. If one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Contact us first if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it.
